NEAR BY PLACES:
VIEQUES
Matt’s Cat, take you to Vieques. To the beautiful and peaceful beaches away from crowds with Clear and calm water 95% of the time. Boat anchorage 25 ft. from shore. Perfect for kids and adults. The water temperature averages from 78º to 83º F. Anchorage is in about 4 to 8 feet deep waters. In the 4 hour trip we spend approximately 2 1/2 hours at the island. There are three (3) nice reefs close to shore with a variety of fish, like Sergeant Major, puffer as well as lobster, Octupus etc.
MONKEY ISLAND (CAYO SANTIAGO)
Clear and calm water 70% of the time. Boat anchors 100- 200 ft. by the shore. (People are not permitted on the island) Good for kids and adults. Water temperature from 78º to 83ºF.
This is a 20 minutes trip (one way). Anchorage is in about 8 feet deep waters. Water is about 2-10 feet deep close to the island. In the 4 hour trip we spend about 2.5- 3 hours at the island..
There is one (1) nice reef close to shore. The island is habited by 1200 rhesus monkeys. You are allowed to swim by the shore to view the monkeys (not enter the island).
CULEBRA ISLAND
Clear and calm water 90% of the time. Boat anchors 30 ft. from shore. Perfect for kids and adults Water temperature from 78º to 83ºF. About 1 1/2 hour trip (one way) Anchorage is in about 4 to 8 feet deep waters. In the 8 hour trip we spend about 5 hours on the island. Can find a variety of fish like: sergeant Mayors, puffer and other fish as well as lobster and octopus. There is one (1) nice reef close to shore. Very peaceful and beautiful island, habited by 2000 people.
PLACES FOR FISHING
At the south-east coast of Puerto Rico, Matt’s Cat take you sport fishing at the Continental Shelf and the Two Sea Mounts. For better results they recommend the Sea Mount in the deep blue waters of our Caribbean Sea. For light tackle (sport fishing) Capt Matt go to shallow waters next to the resort.
THE CONTINENTAL SHELF:
About 5 to 12 miles out from Palmas del Mar; with 20 – 30 minutes cruising time. It is a good place to go for the 4 hour trip and for a first time experience. It is about 200 – 2000 ft. deep.
THE SEA MOUNTS:
Both sea mounts are located about 17miles out from Palmas del Mar. It is recommended for the 6 or 8 hours trip. It takes about 40 minutes cruising time. The Sea Mounts are about 200-4000 feet deep.
LIGHT TACKLE (SPORT FISHING) AREA:
It’ s about 2 miles out from Palmas del Mar. This is a good area for kids and adults. It is about 40 to 200 feet deep.

In fishing trips you can see sometimes whales (humpback) in winter time. You can also see dolphins (flipper), sea turtles and flying fish.
NOTE: Most fish catched weight approximately 10 – 80 pounds. Marlins can weigh from 100 -600 pounds

Maragata offers three (3) different places to go snorkeling: Vieques, Monkey and Culebra islands. Custom trips also available.

Suntan lotion (no oils and spray, Please! ).
Boat or tennis shoes (no black soles, Please!)

Anti-motion sickness medicine should be taken one hour before departure, if you need it.
We are a drug-free boat. No illegal drugs are permitted.

SEA CONDITIONS
The Captain will keep you informed before the trip about the weather conditions. The average weather is about 3 to 4 feet sea, mostly sunny. Having a power catamaran, we provide a better stability; thus a more comfortable trip than a monohull.
LOCATION OF THE BOAT : Anchor Village at PALMAS DEL MAR, HUMACAO, PUERTO RICO
At Palmas del Mar main gate, identify yourself and drive for 5 minutes. Take a left on Coral Way (in front of the La Jolla complex), turn right at the end, drive until reaching stop sign, take a left and park. Go into Anchor’s Village, look for Slip #14, Matt’s Cat. Next to Shipyard @ Palmas.

Regular trips departs at 8:00am or 1:00pm STD for snorkeling trips.
Fishing trips, depart at 7:00am, 12:00pm or 1:00pm STD.
Margata Policy
A 100% deposit is required for reservations for split charters.
No refund allowed for split charters.A 50% deposit is required for private trips.
No show up will be charged the full amount of the charter.
Any dangerous weather determined by the Captain.
No charge will be apply to trip cancelled by any dangerous weather.
Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will be charged the full amount. (for private charters)
Charters payable by cash, travelers checks, VISA, or Master Card and Certified Checks.
